A four letter word

Have you ever just been 'window shopping' or you're on a mission to get something specific, and your eyes are drawn to a four letter word, sale. The thing that the majority of women have in common, is the need to 'just have a look' at how many items that they can purchase within their budget, or in most cases, whatever they have left in their bank account.

Now I however, am a student, with a slight dent in my overdraft, with an obsessive love for shopping. I didn't think that I had that much of a problem with shopping, but the reality is, I do. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with shopping, making yourself feel lovely, updating your wardrobe - just not when it's not needed!

I've always struggled with the difference between 'want' and 'need' ... as you're brought up, they are the terms that are taught to you, to understand the difference. I always wonder, at what point, does this not apply in my case for buying clothes or shoes... or accessories! I, without fail, always return home having purchased something whilst being in town. Even if that be, earrings, journal - love them! or a scarf... yes, I'll admit, I have a slight weakness for scarves! I dread to think how much money I have spent on scarves, but I guess the positive is that there will always be a time to wear them!

My favourite part of shopping, is receiving your purchase, in a fresh, 'ironed' bag. You know then, it's yours to take home. I quite like the idea of having to pay 5p for a bag, as it goes to charity and saves the amount of bags that are used - but, I always forget to take a bag in with me, and I love the feeling of a new bag, I guess it's a feeling of ownership.

But when your card bill comes in at the end of the month....that feeling isn't so great!
