Ka-ching!

I'm often reminded of the Shania Twain song - Ka-ching! I'll just put it out there, I could sing you the song, off by heart! In her lyrics she describes, the greed in the world, that we are centered around money, and its place in society. I guess if you've worked hard to be where you are in whatever situation you find yourself in, then it's primarily your choice with what you do with your money.

Having worked in retail, the noise of a cash machine opening and closing, doesn't quite create a 'ka-ching' sound. In fact, it's more like slamming a door. I have to say, I absolutely hated working in retail, I thought I'd like it, and of course the discount is a positive - dependent on where you work! but it put me off shopping, the thought of seeing another item of clothing made me feel sick. That feeling of course didn't last long when pay day arrived!

I'm not one for shopping for handbags, or much of a buyer for jewellery. Clothes - yes! Shoes - most definitely! Man, I love a good shoe shop! I have a budget on how much I can spend on a pair of shoes - unless, they're amazing! The other day, I browsed the new look sale shoe section, found a gorgeous pair of brown wedges, size 5... but there was no sale price on them, so I said to myself that if it was too good to be true, and they weren't in the sale, then I wouldn't buy them. I stared hopefully at the till screen, which was about to show the price that determined the outcome of a successful shopping trip.... £7!!!!!!!! It took a lot of self control not to do a dance or shout 'whoooop' at the top of my voice, yes I know you're thinking I have serious issues! but I do love a good bargain! I mean, it would be cruel to leave them on the shelf!

You will think I'm even more crazy after I tell you of my love for dance shoes - they're on a whole new level! I could spend hours in dance shops, just browsing, trying shoes on. I absolutely loved when my ballet shoes, were so worn, that I needed to buy a new pair. Satin were my favourite, oh and the ribbons once they're sewn on.... eeeek! They're just soooo beautiful, every girl should at least own a set of ballet shoes during their life time!

 simply beautiful...
